been collected from various sources and levels. The National Academy of Marine Research and
the research team of the Institute of Marine Affairs and Policy, R.O.C. has sponsored seven regional
conferences and one citizen’s forum, and an international conference of marine culture to collect
the views and suggestions of the people and groups regarding the marine culture. Suggestions
regarding marine culture by local and international experts were collected, with people’s consensus,
the international trends and macro narrative of marine culture was completed. Policies regarding
the promotion of Taiwan’s marine culture were made.
