Physical Plan

The National Museum of Marine Resources is
positioned as an important base of the conservation and
promotion of marine culture, marine resources, industry,
and marine ecology in Taiwan. It will also be the first
national museum in Hualien. Its core mission is to enhance
local connections in Hualien. In the museum, there are
collections, exhibitions, study, and promotion of
education. It expects to connect with local energy
effectively. Collaborating with excellent local groups to
ensure the mechanism for people’s participation. The
museum will re-shape Hualien and resource corridor along
the coast to become an experience platform for the Local conferences and discussions
exhibition of marine life, art, tourism, and innovation.
Shaping the overall atmosphere in the surrounding, it inspires people to know more about and get
closer to the ocean. It plans to attract more resources to reside in the area and promote the regional
economy.
The National Academy of Marine Research intends to conduct the research with the advance
plan of the exhibition items at the National Museum of Marine Resources, the interpretation of the
law and the possibility of land acquisition, the planning of construction period, and the estimation
of budget to schedule the construction of the National Museum of Marine Resources and the
securing of funds for promoting mid-term and long-term plans. With this plan, the overall space,
surrounding environment, marine resources, marine industry, related laws and regulations,
financial resources, management issues, and expected effects will be analyzed to propose the
